I love Carson City’s Farmers Market, it’s one of my favorite things about living in Carson during the summer. Today was the opening day of the 2020 season. I’m so happy to see that amid all the 2020 chaos it was still able to open give us another piece of normal back.
With a watering system and the slightest green thumb it’s fairly easy to grow a garden in Carson City. I’m fortunate to have an amazing garden with tomatoes, zucchini and a few other basics, but like most others, my time and garden skills are limited. The local Farmers Market is a great way to fill in where my garden skills fall short and also support great local businesses. The variety of the Farmer’s Market even goes beyond vegetables. They have fruits, meats, local goods, health solutions and more.
The Farmer’s Market takes place the first Saturday of the month, June through September, from 8:30 to 1:00 at the corner of 3rd and Curry St. There are some modifications this year to prevent the spread of COVID. To get details on the COVID modifications and to verify the dates and times the market will be open, visit the Carson City Farmer’s Market site at https://carsonfarmersmarket.com/.
